  • After 2+ years still trying to ID an 8'6" U.S. Navy Prop?

Tried with you folks two-years ago and didn't have much luck ID'ng this prop except I was told it appeared to be early 15-20s. Was given this Propeller by my aunt back in the 60s. I think I want to sell it, but sure need to ID it to reasonably get what it's worth. Can't make heads or tails out of how to get all four (4) pics to come up, so either pay attention and click arrows at imageshack under pics or click on links here here

I'm believe it is in wonderful condition with only a tiny crack in the trailing edge of a blade, I'm thinking "this crack" knocked it out of service?...

Hub 8 bolt w/6.225" bolt circle & 3.1325" center bore appears to be a "Wright A"
    Stamped Identification:
    P548 SC 37831
    8'6" x 5'3"
    P548
    2 42690
has several: stamps in wood of U S with an old time anchor between the U and S. That is why I believe it is US Navy???
There are also always stamps adjacent to the two or three U*S Navy's that I can't figure at all.

It also came with a ships clock that was placed on the hub when I got it

    So what's it from???
Thanking you in advance for any details you can provide.

Not much has changed in that time period. Some props remain virtually impossible to identify and therefore also become hard to estimate with respect to their value.
