Prop identification and info

I need more info on this Westmore prop, which has R 9 on it and not R4. is this from a Curtiss or Lycoming engine, where was it used and on what plane. My dad gave it to me and it is now at the aviation program of Northwest College in Cody WY. Thanks

I'm pretty sure that the R4 and R9 used the same propeller. I think that was long before Lycoming started manufacturing aircraft engines.

Westmore R 9 prop

Thanks. I made a mistake on the motor. The other possible engine was a "Liberty" and not a Lycoming. I am told the prop is from a Navy plane. Any other thoughts?

How long is it from tip to tip?

Does anyone have an idea of the value of this 9 ft 6 in Westmoore prop from WWI? We are donating it to a local college and its aeronautical program
