I'm doing a little research for my father-in-law and I hope you can help me. He has a section of propeller (the hub and about 12 inches on both sides) that belonged to his father. His father was stationed as a mechanic at Payne Field in West Point, Mississippi in 1918. Payne Field used 125 Curtiss JN-4's to train about 1500 pilots between May 1918 and March 1920. Therefore, I'm going to make the assumption that this propeller is probably off of a JN-4. The information on the prop reads, Right Hand - Dia 8'8" x 5' 8", R178, A. J. Edmonds, 4773, CALTO 12, A.I.D. C2. It appears to be made of walnut. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
