Early Hartzell Generator Prop

An email correspondent has asked me to post these. He writes, "Hello Lamar:
Not much info on the net about these generators and someone was wondering what they were used for, since the name plate says such high amps and low voltage, I was thinking it may be a heater for the pilot's seat. Other speculation was they may be the power for a radio. Since mine says heater it must be for heating something. Chuck."

I have a similar prop but not the device it mounts on. Anyone have additional info?
