  • need help to identify prop

My dad got this at a yard sale in '65 & its been buried in his basement ever since. we would like to know what it may have been used on & an opinion on value. it measures 104 1/2 inches long, hub is 3 1/8" in dia. bolt holes are spaced at 2 5/8" & are 6 3/4" across. markings on prop are "TT" near hub, "T" over "2316" on blade 10" from center of hub, "D-250" on opposite blade 10" from hub. any info is appreciated.

What a good looking prop! It appears to be in exceptional original condition and probably dates from the early 1920's. I look forward to discovering what Dave thinks of it. Don't restore it!

D250 indicates the diameter in cm, which tr. as 98 1/2 inches, whereas your 104 1/2 inches is about 265cm.

    With kind regards,

thank you for the response, it will not be restored. its been wrapped in an old blanket in a dark basement for the last 47 years, no uv exposure or anything so were pretty happy with the way it looks as is. what type of plane do you think it was used on?

I don't know what it goes to, but there are several Stone family members who would be interested in purchasing it, I think.

With accurate hub dimension measurements you could eliminate a few possibilities for engines it would fit.
