Hi
I have recently acquired a cut down Lang prop and would like to know what I can about it
The markings that are still on it are as follows
On the rear face of the hub
G.1668.N.7. ( I think these are the batch and serial numbers and would like to know the dates they refer to? )
On the side of the hub L.P.5300.R.H. (Lang Propeller drawing number 5300 Right Handed rotation?)
B.R.2. (Bentley Rotary 2. So to me this dates it as 1917 - 1920? )
D 2780. (Diameter in mm)
A shipwright pal who knows his wood says it is finest Brazilian Mahogany and the scarph joints are as good as it gets. Are there any other bits of info about the 5300 you can offer, aircraft could be a Snipe / Salamander or a??
Many thanks
Sandpiper
