  • Trying to identify an old prop

I came across an old wooden prop and am hoping someone on here can help me identify it. I havent measured it but it is over 7 1/2 ft long and has a hammered brass leading edge on it. It is an 8 lug design and has the metal hub for a tapered shaft still mounted on it. There are no stickers on it but there are a couple of identifying numbers stamped into the wood. On one side it has the numbers 608992 stamped and on the other side it has DES310 stamped into it. It is a pretty cool prop and I havent decided what to do with it, but when I got it I also aquired a book with it that says ""ROYAL AIR FORCE" TECHNICAL NOTES AEROPLANES A-L which i an awesome book about world war one biplanes. I doubt if this prop is that old, but it is interesting that it came with the prop. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

    Clay,

The data indicates that it is an American prop, not British and therefore the RAF book probably has no connection.

    With kind regards,
