I have a propeller passed down to me from my grandfather, it is a Flottorp from Grand Rapids - Chicago. I think that means between 1915 and 1918. It is only one portion of a blade, and was recovered from some sort of accident and turned into a trophy and given to the injured soldier, my grandfather.
"Ellington Field Air Service" with a red, blue, and white roundel and "US Army" had been carefully and professionally painted on it...Can anyone tell meanything about it? Was it common to give something like this? What it's value might be, and how I might clean it or restore it? Thanks
