This is the hub from a Sop FI, known to everyone other than Sopwith as the Camel. It is an early version which was the standard prop from November 1917 to July 1918, when a slightly different diameter came into use.
The batch number G1302 suggests that the prop was made about mid 1919.
It is not a particularly good example of its genre. Not much panache in the design; doesn't seem to have been well finished; the stamping is atypically scruffy and it is post-WW1.
There is an auction at Dominic Winter in early May where several first class hubs are coming up. They were put into the auction by a friend of mine. The catalogue will appear online soon; after Easter I guess.
Many thanks for the reply. You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned a lack of panache and style in the production. This is what caused me to suspect it's origin. Also the arrangement and cudeness of the stampings rang alarm bells.
I don't mean to suggest that this is not a genuine Camel prop; merely that you can find better. I think the Dominic Winter auction is around 8, 9 or 10 May. It's the best aero-memorabilia auction that I know of; world wide.

I wondered if you could look at the large alloy motor bike if you were going to the preview. There is lots of stuff there I would bid on if I could go.
