  • Help to identify propeller please

Hi. Im looking at buying a wooden propeller again (you guys helped me a few years ago!). Im trying to find out about any markings but so far just have the image below. Its 38" long and the width at the tip is 8". Any ideas of its origins please?

This one doesn't look like an aircraft prop and 38" in diameter is way too small. Perhaps it's for a fan or other device.

The hub and four small bolt holes are too small to transmit the sort of power an aero engine would develop. I think it is a ceiling fan. Lovely shape.

      With kind regards,

I don't know. It's possible it is from a really old engine/aircraft and was damaged and cut down at some point. Are there markings around the hub? What do the tips look like when viewed from end on? Sometimes you can tell that a prop has been trimmed down by that shape.

I have bought this propeller and I will collect it this weekend.

I will then post some pictures here. It could be interesting.

          Regards,
          Bob.
