    Hi All,

I bought this prop over 20 years ago at a flea market and have always wondered what it had been used for.

It's 71.5 inches long, 4 inches wide and .75 inches thick.
The distance between the mounting holes is 2.25 inches center to center.
On the back is the paint shadow of a hub 3 inches in diameter:

Both ends are clad with a non-ferrous metal--bronze I think:

There are a few more images in my Yahoo album here.

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance...

May I suggest reading the following post in this forum? It's a very similar item. http://woodenpropeller.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=88

It's definitely not an airplane propeller, and is most likely some form of windmill application, like an orchard or vineyard fogger, etc.

        windmill propeller

This is definately an electric generating windmill prop. I had one at the energy lab where I taught; its made of redwood; turned a D-C generator that produced about 200 Watts in a 20 mph wind.
