  • Hope you folks can help me ID this 8'6"x5'3" Navy? Wooden Propeller

Was given this Propeller by my aunt back in the 60s.

I'm thinking it is in wonderful condition?...

Hub 8 bolt w/6.225" bolt circle & 3.1325" center bore appears to be a "Wright A"
    Stamped Identification:
    P548 SC 37831
    8'6" x 5'3"
    P548
    2 42690
has several: stamps in wood of U S with an old time anchor between the U and S. That is why I believe it is US Navy???
There are also always stamps adjacent to the two or three U*S Navy's that I can't figure at all.

It also came with a ships clock that was placed on the hub when I got it

    So what's it from???
    Thanks

I moved it into the "Early" category because I think it's more like from the late teens and early twenties than from a later period. I'm not sure what it's from, and I'll try to see if any of the numbers match any knowns, but don't hold your breath on that. Many of them can't be identified. You might take a look at this page about hub dimensions and see if you can match it to a possible engine.
