  • Trying to identify a propeller from Sywell Aerodrome

    Hi,

Please see the attached pictures, I aquired this propeller from Sywell Aerodrome, I was told that it is from an Avro Anson that crashed at Sywell in the early 1930's.

Can anyone help me to find a bit more of the history of this propeller ?

I am curious to try and find the details of the actual aircraft that crashed and if this prop did indeed come from that aircraft.

I know the clock that was added in the prop has de-valued it, but I'm not interested in it's value, more it's history.

PS: I am a PPL and fly from Sywell regularly myself.

    Thanks, Steve

The first step would be to look for any markings that might confirm it was designed for that model, which it may very well be. Establishing the actual aircraft any propeller was used on is usually very difficult and generally would require review of the aircraft logs, hoping to find a serial number match.
