I have been given a wooden prop for display at our aircraft exhibt in Havelock, NC. Numbers appear to be: DES 72C42, Ser No. 12461, HP 65, RPM 2350 and six hole hub. Really need some accurate info so to display properly. I believe it to be a Sensenich and 1940's time frame. Dating correct? What type AC? Approx. value? It is a common prop used on aeronca champs, chiefs, and almost anything that was powered by a 65 h.p. continental of the era. My first flight instructor ran a flight school right here in Siren Wi. after WWII and taught hundreds of pilots under the G.I. bill in such aircraft. He had about a dozen of those props stacked up in the corner of his hangar, unairworthy or broken, Those props had a rough life.
I helped him toss those props in the dump.
