My Westmoore prop

I got this from my grandmother. She said she bought it at a yard sale for my grandfather back when they were dating in the early 40's. The lady she got it from said it was from a plane that crashed in the cape cod canal.

The markings on the prop say
BAP65148
No.4217
8 6 x 5 22
Hispano Suiza ?

Any info someone might have on this would be great.

Hispano Suiza Hispano Suiza or Hisso engine

Westmoore Propellers built a large number of propellers for the US Navy in the late teens and early twenties. I don't know from those numbers what airplane it might have flown on, but clearly the engine is a Hisso. I would guess that it was manufactured in the late teens or early twenties, but could have been later. Not much is known about the company.
