I Need Help

I just inherited a wooden propeller and I need help figuring out what it is or rather who made it. It is about 9 feet tall or was 9 feet tall. One of the edges was broken. I have pics here http://www.flickr.com/photos/lprjohnny2008/

P.S. If I decide to sell item would the damage make a difference ?

The numbers stamped on it could help identify what it was used for. I can't read them from the photos.

The damage reduces its value, but it is a display propeller only, so just leave it the way it is or the value will go down even further. I doubt that it's worth much anyway (maybe $100 or so on eBay) but some of that would depend on what it was used for.
