  • WW1 trench art

Hi All, I've just joined as someone kindly pointed me in this direction. I'm trying to identify a wooden propellor (or part of one) so this might be the place to find the expertise. I also thought you enthusiasts might appreciate seeing it. I think it's a WW1 prop. It's laminated mahogany with the addition of a brass plate most likely from a mortar casing. There is also an 18 pounder casing to form a gong. The casing is stamped December 1915. The mallet for the gong seems to be made of what might be an engine push rod, it's some sort of stainless steel, it's tapered and tapped at both ends. The blade at its broadest is 25cm / 9 7/8". Thanks for looking

I should add, the nearest similar propeller I have found so far is a four-bladed prop from a British DE8

It's nice collection of parts, but I don't see anything that is particularly "identifiable".
