It was made by the firm of Reschke for the Mercedes 160 horsepower engine used on C-type aircraft. A partial Reschke decal with Iron Cross exists.
According to Robert Gardner, this is the earliest known (1917) still existing example of a propeller made for the Rupp hub, and it appeared in his recent CD book on German props.
