  • Help in assessing price for prop

Hi, I have stumbled upon the prop shown in the attached photos which is being offered to me for sale.

    The hub reads:

D.M.B. (but possibly the “B” is an “E”)
    NO 1801
    450 PS NAPIER LION
    D 325
    H 235
    DRUCK

I know the "450 ps Napier Lion" means this prop was used on an airplane equipped with the 450 horsepower W12 Napier Lion engine and I have identified which aircraft were equipped with this engine in my country in the 1920s.

The prop is in excellent condition, measures 2.45 meters and shows no sign of having been subject to any attempt of restoration.

Could anyone provide an approximate estimate of its worth?
Also, what the other letters and numbers mean?

      Hi Largermod,

the prop looks great, from the photo it looks to be a "pusher" type as Lion's of that period were Left Hand Tractor, what plane did you find that the prop came from ?

in the UK that prop would probably fetch over £2000
