  • Mystery prop

I have a wooden propeller I would like to identify. It is a modern prop, 99 inches long with 8 bolt holes. Internal diameter of the hub is 3.75 inches. Stamped on one side is "E 1701". Hand written on the opposite side is "609". Otherwise there are no identifying marks. It would be nice to know who made the prop and what engine/aircraft it was used with. Any help with these questions is appreciated. Regards, Jim Taylor.

That's a BIG prop! the "E 1701" does not match any design number I have a record of. Without decals showing the maker or having it stamped into the blade I cannot help in that area. If you'll post here the hub dimensions as described at http://www.woodenpropeller.com/HUB_D...US_ENGINES.htm I'll attempt to discover what engine it was used on. This may help some to narrow down the aircraft possibilities.
