  • Hartzell wooden prop

I picked up a Hartzell wooden prop design 504K, serial # 12464. It has 8 mounting holes and metal strips along the leading edge. I contacted Hartzell about date of manufacture and application, but they do not have records that date back this far. Melanie at Hartzell told me about this website and forum. I would really appreciate if anyone could give me any information about this prop. Thanks, Tom

504K was one of the models of the AVRO 504, and the presence of the "K" makes me wonder if it might not have been made for that by Hartzell before their current numbering system and then just stamped that way. That might be a long shot, but it's a possibility. I've got some other Hartzell numbers listings that I can check through when I'm at home.
