  • Brass nose cone

Can anyone help me ID this brass nose cone? I'm looking to sell it.

It measures 9 3/4 inches wide x 11 1/2 inches tall and weighs 2.75 lbs.

    Hi,

What make you think this part has something to do with an aircraft?

        Hi,,

Habitually, "nose cone", or "spinner", fitted over a propeller, is made of light alloy aluminium based. It seems (no proof), IMHO, that brass spinners did exist on very early aircraft, but then the have a way to fix them: or one hole at the end of the cone, or three or more holes at the base. Your part seems to be "inserted" in some other one, but it can't be done like this on a propeller.

In my opinion, the part of the 2014 post "Remove dents from brass nose cone" was not an original aircraft part, just a decorative thing, perhaps made for the showed prop, perhaps coming from ?, but very unlikely from an aircraft, and in no way from an aircraft of the 30's.

        Regards,
