Hello,

I am looking for help identifying a WWI propeller. Here is some of the information that I have found on the propeller. I believe due to an internet search that this propeller was attached to an Albatross DI plane.

150P
BENZ
D 280 Blatter 025
STG 175

Garuda
Propeller
DRP
Nr. 6554

I have attached photos as well. Can anyone help me out on identifying more information about this propeller. This propeller is currently housed in a museum in Arizona.

Try attaching the photos using the "Manage Attachments" option that opens up below this window when you reply or quote or edit a post.

I'm not sure what the URL is for those but they don't show up on my computer.

This prop has been described on this forum before.

German WW1 props cannot be attributed to a make of aircraft, only to a class of aircraft.

The data translates as;
150P 150ps, the horse power
BENZ the engine maker
D 280 the diameter in cm
Blatter 025 the blade width
STG 175 the pitch

Garuda Propeller the maker
DRP Ltd company
Nr. 6554 serial number

The prop could only be fitted to a C Type aircraft with a speed of 130-140kph which was probably the most numerous German aircraft type of WW1, for which props were made by many makers of whom Garuda was one.

With kind regards,

Bob
