Pete,

The prop shops of Bristol and Rolls Royce merged in 1937 to form Rotol Airscrews at Staverton in Gloucester. In 1943 the name changed to Rotol.

We'll need the drawing numbers and part numbers to identify which aircraft the prop was fitted to. These can be found stamped on the metal prop root where it attaches to the hub. The nos from the hub might also help.

With kind regards,

Bob

Pete,

That's not a Rotol part number. We are looking for a number which begins with R (for Rotol) followed by A or E or X or numerals (RA, RE, RX). There can be all three on one blade which describe the prop type, prop blade and adaptor but mostly there is just a Rotol prop drawing numbers beginning with RA.... It is stamped on the steel rings near the base of the blade root.

With kind regards,

Bob
