  • Banks Maxwell Propeller

I had an older fellow bring me a Banks Maxwell Propeller. It has Model #68G18 on it with serial number 18935. Its 68 inches in length has a 6 bolt hub with about a 4 and 3/8 inches from center of bolt to straight accross center of bolt and a 2 and 1/4 inch hub hole. Any ideas guys. thanks very much in advance. doug

It's most likely an airboat or a snow sleigh propeller. They typically have squared off ends, flat blades, and fairly flat pitch.

Banks-Maxwell did build a few airplane propellers, but they are mostly known for their airboat props.

Thanks Dave. thats sortve what i thought. Would you know of anyone that would have a catalog that would list the application for this particular one. Its does have flat ends and the 18 in the model number i would think would be the pitch. Whatever did happen to banks-maxwell? doug
