Hi all,

I'm looking for an ID on this 1/2 propeller that someone has used has a coat and hat stand. I guess we are looking at a prop manufactured in the 20's, but I stand to be corrected. It is 57 1/2" in length (Total being 115")' it is 10 ply thick and has 8 bolt holes in the boss.

Many thanks
Bernie

That's going to be tough, if not impossible, without the drawing number. It's a left hand thread, which makes it a little more likely to be of British design and manufacture.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply. I had hoped that the 'JUPITER S........" and "WITCH...." that is stamped into the boss might have narrowed down the possibilities a little.

Hi,

Jupiter was a very common aircraft engine* in the late 20' and the 30', but with 400 to 460 HP the prop would have to be fitted with a ten holes hub in France. Don't know if it is true in all countries ("DRG" is typically English (for Drawing [number])), but, IMHO, it would have to.
