RE8 RAF4 A propeller ?

Need a little help to ID this part of a propeller.
I found it on a garret in "Flanders Fields..."

I see some letters and numbers:

12 Cyl RAFA 4 T6296 RE8 H6 168

From a RE 8 WWI aircraft with RAFA 4 engine?
What indicate the numbers T6296 and H6 168..?

It was a 4 blades propeller but they have cut off 2 of them to construct an ornament of it (to put a clock in it??)

T6296 is the "drawing" (blueprint) number, and checking the listing it affirms your assumption about the engine. That model was also used on the BE12 and BE12A, as well as the RE8A, but since yours is stamped RE8 that pretty much narrows that down.

I'm just guessing that the H6 168 is some kind of production number, similar to a serial number.

Very piculiar there are still things to find on a garret. The women was simply asking me what it was. They would sell it on a old junk-market .

It's a shame they didn't find the whole propeller up there. But usually these items are because the rest of it was damaged.

RAF 4A refers to the fourth type of engine designed by the Royal Aircraft Factory. When the Royal Air Force was formed in 1918, the Royal Aircraft Factory became the RAE to prevent confusion, the Royal Aircraft Establishment.
