  • Can anybody help me with ID my prop

    Hi,
    I have this wooden prop for over 20 years, I do not know for wich plane it is or what era, the lenght is 2,50 meter or 8 feet 11 inches, it has 8 holes,and some faint markings,

    Very faint, yes... One more "restored" (read "destroyed"). If there is no possibility to read the markings, it will stay an anonymous one for ever. Hope people looking at this will refrain to "restore" anymore.

    The size seems like the old ones, but wood and laminations disposition are not in favour of pre 1920 making : on the fourth picture, there are three laminations side by side the same way. The one above the one with marking "propeller" had to be set reverse in the old fashion, imho.

    Perhaps you can post a picture of the whole thing to see its shape.

      I think it is German and dates from 1918 because of the primary use of native woods (elm, ash) and only one lamination of the preferred wood, mahogany.
