    Hi all,
    I am new to this forum and am after some info on my a prop that I have. It is one part inc the hub from a FE2B. unfortunately the other 3 parts have been cut off, the writing on the hub reads as follows;
    FE2B, LP7142, T28005, 160HP BEARDMORE and on the prop is a square stamp which reads AID IV.

    Would be grateful of any help,
    Thanks,
    Martyn

    'Afternoon Martyn,

    Welcome to the forum.

    Your prop is from a WW1 Fighter designed by the Royal Aircraft Factory called the FE2B.

    The diameter was 2670mm and the pitch 2020mm. Your prop was made by the Lang Propeller Company and probably dates from later than July 1918 when the prop became the standard prop for the aircraft until early 1919. The AID mark is a stamp from the Aircraft Inspection Department, which in effect is an airworthiness permit.

    With kind regards,

    Bob
