paragon propellers

I need info on propellers made by American Propellers Company stamped Paragon in center 105 inches in diameter with a propeller stamped above S O 4482 then on bottom 2521 .I need a value for insurance purposes.These propellers in excellent shape appear to never been mounted on airplane,appear to be covered by a dark stain.Can I refinish them to a natural wood finish and cover with a clear stain with out destroying the value.I appericiate anyones input.Thanks

Do not refinish them if they are in original condition, no matter how bad they may appear.

The value estimate would depend on condition, and despite knowing that they are in "excellent shape", that wouldn't hold up for insurance purposes if the adjuster knew that the value was determined on heresay.

The "S.O." is more likely "S.C." for Signal Corps.
